Local leaders speak out about anti-Semitism

The Jewish Community Relations Council on June 1 gathered elected officials and interfaith leaders to speak out against anti-Semitism. The press conference was held at Congregation B’nai Amoona.

Each speaker explained in his/her own words why it’s important to fight anti-Semitism.

Among those present was the Reverend Dr. Rodrick Burton from New Northside Missionary Baptist Church, who said, “Anti-Semitism, just as racism in America, is one of the ugly angels that must be stamped out, must be corrected and must be stopped. I personally—and the members of New Northside Missionary Baptist Church—stand with the Jewish community and we’re asking you to stop hate. We must stop hate.”
