Solomon Schechter sets date for its 'Main Event'

Solomon Schechter Day School will recognize three of its “builders” — Arleen and Dr. Phillip Korenblat as the 2007 Event Honorees and Milton Movitz as the Leo I. Mirowitz Distinguished Service Award recipient — at its Main Event Sat., Mar. 10. The event, themed Livnot U’lehibanot (to build and to be built), will take place at 7 p.m. at Congregation B’nai Amoona. Jewish comedian, Avi Liberman (www.aviliberman.net), will perform at this Las Vegas-style extravaganza. His show will be preceded by Havdallah, an hors d’oeuvres buffet, cocktails, and an auction. Tickets are $118 per person. There will also be a Texas hold em’ tournament and sponsors will be treated to a dessert reception.

This event – to benefit the SSDS Scholarship Fund – is open to the whole community. Jim Guller, SSDS Board president said, “This is a wonderful way to kick off the Hebrew month of Adar…..laughing with a wonderful comedian, supporting the SSDS Scholarship fund which promotes diversity in our school, and honoring such outstanding benefactors of our school!” For ticket information, please call Martha Brodsky at 314-576-6177.
