JProStL, the professional association supporting staff across more than 50 Jewish organizations in St. Louis, has announced its new leadership for 2025–2026—and the incoming board president is no stranger to storytelling.

Rebekah Scallet, artistic director of the New Jewish Theatre at the Jewish Community Center, will step into the role of JProStL President. Known for her vision and creativity in the local arts scene, Scallet brings a passion for collaboration that reflects the core values of JProStL.
“I’m thrilled to help guide this dynamic group of professionals,” said Scallet. “This board represents the breadth of our Jewish community, and I’m excited to continue building connections that strengthen our shared work.”
Joining her in leadership are Vice Presidents Helen Turner of the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum and Susan Kemppainen of the Mirowitz Center at Covenant Place. Rabbi Lori Levine of Congregation Shaare Emeth, who served as last year’s president, will transition into the role of past president.

- Scott Berzon (Jewish Federation) returns as Professional Development Chair
- Maddie Lapp (JFS) takes the helm as Young Pros Chair
- Elyse Picker (JCRC) will serve as New Staff Chair
- Samantha Wendling (Temple Israel) will lead Special Events
The new slate of at-large board members includes:
