‘Light’ showcases mitzvah projects

This week the St. Louis Jewish Light introduces an ongoing feature, “Mitzvot from the heart,” a page highlighting the mitzvah projects being done by our community’s young adults preparing for their bar and bat mitzvah.

Milton Movitz, president of the Jewish Light’s board of trustees, said the new feature is meant to showcase the good deeds being done by young adults in the community, and hopefully inspire others to follow their example with acts of tzedakah.

On page eight of the Feb. 20 edition, four mitzvah projects are detailed. In addition, at the bottom of the page, details are included for parents interested in submitting information about their child’s mitzvah project, for an upcoming “Mitzvot from the heart” page.

Parents are asked to email information, including their child’s name, congregation, school, and details of the mitzvah project, including a synopsis of the project, why that particular project was chosen, and how the community can support the mitzvah project.

Parents are also requested to include a digital photograph of their child in the email, which can be sent to mitzvahprojects@thejewishlight. com.

There is no charge for submissions.
