Lazaroff-Deane Engagement

Claire Alexandra Lazaroff and Phillip Clayton Deane have announced their engagement. 

Claire is the daughter of Jane Fedder Brotherton (Lee) of Olivette and Dennis Lazaroff (Nancy) of Olivette. She is the granddaughter of Anita Barr Lazaroff of Creve Coeur and the late Morton Lazaroff of Clayton, and the late Edwin and Ruth Weger Fedder of Clayton. She is the step-granddaughter of Larry and Mary Jo Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Phillip is the son of Phillip and Debra Deane of Varina, Va. He is the grandson of the late Clayton Deane and Jane Deane Landers of Richmond, Va., and Norfolk, Va., and the late Robert Carden, Jr. and Mary Ann Countiss Carden of Prince George, Va.

The bride-to-be earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art education in 2015 from School of the Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently a high school graphic arts teacher in the King William County Public School System outside of Richmond.

Her fiancé received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics in 2009 from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master’s degree in Banking in 2017 from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently a Financial Institution Examiner at the FDIC.

The couple met in the fall of 2014 while cheering on their respective favorite college football teams at a Richmond-area tavern. Phillip proposed to Claire on July 4, 2017 at one of their favorite places—the World’s Fair Pavilion at Forest Park in St. Louis. A July 2018 wedding is planned at the John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond.
