Kolot Jewish Women’s Choir seeks new members

Calling all women who love to sing: Kolot, the St. Louis Jewish women’s choir will begin its 11th season with a rehearsal and informational meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Congregation Temple Israel, 1 Rabbi Alvan D. Rubin Drive (Ladue and Spoede roads) in Creve Coeur.

Anyone interested in joining the choir is encouraged to attend. This intergenerational, multi-denominational choir is open to women of all ages and Jewish backgrounds. No auditions are required and all vocal ranges are welcome; however, the choir is in particular need of sopranos.

Kolot rehearses weekly on Tuesdays, from 7:30-9 p.m., September through May. The choir is directed by music educator Betti Blumoff and performs a diverse repertoire of music in English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino for audiences at Jewish community events and at area retirement centers.
