JProStl plans two-day conference in March

Rabbi Brad Hirschfield

Professionals working for Jewish organizations in St. Louis and around the country will come together for high-level training at the first JProStl conference Sunday, March 6 through Monday, March 7 at the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex in St. Louis. JProStl is the association dedicated to supporting professionals working at Jewish organizations in St. Louis.

The conference will bring together authors and lecturers who will speak on topics related to Jewish life, nonprofit management, community engagement and professional excellence. Rabbi Brad Hirschfield, President of CLAL and named by Newsweek as one of America’s 50 most influential rabbis, will deliver a keynote address, which will be followed by an impressive line-up of national presenters including leadership coach Deborah Grayson Riegel of MyJewishCoach.com; Israeli social scientist Paul Liptz; internet strategist Lisa Colton; Jewish educational consultant Robyn Faintich; and Adam Simon of the Schusterman Family Foundation addressing engagement of young adults. The conference also will provide opportunities for professionals to learn from local professional leaders and clergy including Rabbi Andrea Goldstein, Rabbi Carnie Rose, Barry Rosenberg, Cyndee Levy, Rabbi Hyim Shafner, Ronit Sherwin and others.

Recognizing the need for ongoing staff development and the reality of reduced dollars for staff development, staff can take advantage of flexible registration options to attend the entire conference, including 3 meals, for just $75 or partial options at $30. The conference is chaired by Lori Goldberg of JF&CS and Ken Weintraub of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis.

The conference and all JProStl initiatives are generously supported by the Lubin-Green Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. JProStl is now part of the new I.E. Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership, a community-wide endeavor to engage, develop and inspire leadership throughout the St. Louis Jewish community.

JProStl is chaired by Craig Newman of the JCC, and is part of a network of JPros that partner with one another through the work of JCSA (Jewish Communal Service Assoc. of North America – www.jcsana.org).  JCSA promotes training, best practices, advocacy, and recognition for Jewish professionals across North America and is a partner in planning the conference.
