JOLT to start third trimester of classes for teens

Jewish Opportunities & Learning for Teens (JOLT) has announced its course description for the third trimester. JOLT admits students on a rolling basis, so students may begin at any time during the school year. Third Trimester begins Feb. 18 and is open to St. Louis Jewish teens in grades 8-12.

Courses include a Jewish current events class, “Wizardry of Judaism” (exploring the connection of the Harry Potter series to Judaism), Jewish text study with community rabbis, Jewish pop culture, understanding the Holocaust through film, and “Strong Teens; Stronger Relationships” (exploring the empowerment and self-esteem in healthy relationships).

Classes take place on Thursday evenings from Feb. 18 through April 14 (no class on March 17) at Traditional Congregation, 12437 Ladue Road. Classes begin at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner option beginning at 6.

Two special events are also planned before the start of the third trimester, both held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Traditional.
