JOLT to start new trimester of classes for teens Nov. 18

The Jewish Opportunities & Learning for Teens (JOLT) program will begin its first day of the second trimester of Fall 2010 on Thursday, Nov. 18. This is the third year of the innovative and interactive program for teens in grades 8-12. JOLT is a program of Central Agency for Jewish Education that takes place on Thursday evenings at Congregation B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Road. The second trimester consists of eight weeks of classes that promote Jewish exploration and cultural and experiential learning for busy teens. New class offerings include: Harry Potter & the Torah (Jewish ethics and values explored through the Harry Potter series) and Jewish Rockers & Rappers (their music as a form of Jewish expression). Popular classes returning for Trimester 2 include Israel through Cinema & the Arts, Bite of the Bible and Jews “R” News.
