JOLT to begin new year of classes for teens

JOLT — Jewish Opportunities and Learning for Teens — is beginning a new year of classes for students in grades 8 through 12. Shown here are teens from last year’s JOLT program. JOLT takes place Thursday evenings at B’nai Amoona.

Jewish Opportunities & Learning for Teens (JOLT), an innovative and interactive program for teens in grades eight through 12, is being offered for a third year by the St. Louis Jewish community. JOLT is a program of Central Agency for Jewish Education that takes place on Thursday evenings at Congregation B’nai Amoona. JOLT’s first trimester starts Thursday, Sept. 2, and consists of eight weeks of classes that promise to inspire Jewish exploration and cultural and experiential learning for the busy teen. This fall, teens will choose from returning favorite classes such as “Bite of the Bible” or “Jews “R” News,” or they may pick “Israel Through the Arts” or “Write-On” (journaling through interaction with seniors at Crown Center) from among the new courses being offered.
