Jewish Federation of St. Louis is kicking of an event series for members of its professional trade societies with “An Evening at Busch Stadium.” The 2013–14 UMB Event Series will feature three high-level programming events for members of the Cardozo Society, Maimonides Society, and Montefiore Society.
The first event, “An Evening at Busch Stadium,” will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16. Members will enjoy an all-inclusive theme buffet in the private UMB Champions Club, stadium tours and panel discussions with Cardinals executives, a photo opportunity with the 2011 World Series trophy and networking with society-level donors. The cost is $10 per person. RSVPs requested by Sept. 13 at www.JFedSTL.org/UMBseries or by emailing Veronica Marshall at [email protected].
The second event, a panel discussion on “The Cost of Education” featuring Jim Wilmore, head of admissions for St. Louis University Medical School and neurologist will take place on Nov. 7. A third event will take place in early 2014.
This is the second year UMB has funded a professional society event series for Federation’s trade societies. Trade society members are professional and philanthropic leaders in the St. Louis Jewish and general communities.
The Cardozo Society is open to Jewish attorneys and judges. The Maimonides Society is open to Jewish physicians, dentists and healthcare professionals at the doctorate level. The Montefiore Society is open to Jewish accountants, stockbrokers, bankers, financial planners, insurance brokers and others in financial services. All societies also are open to students in the respective fields. Society membership is open to donors who give $1,800 to Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Annual Community Campaign ($1,000 for those younger than 45).
The societies promote camaraderie among local Jewish professionals, strengthen commitment to Jewish values and traditions through educational and cultural activities, and support the activities of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis.
Chairs of the UMB Event Series are Ken Rubin, Michael Goldberg, Maury Poscover, Burt Garland, Dr. Carl Lyss and Dr. Barry Singer.
