Jewish Family & Children’s Service will hold the 8th annual “Feed the Pantry-Feed the Soul” harvest festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 at Mills Apple Farm, 11477 Pocahontas Road in Marine, Ill. The event will benefit the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry (HKJFP).
Activities will include wagon rides, craft projects, family portraits and apple picking. Guests can enjoy a picnic lunch either purchased at the farm or brought from home.
“The Feed the Pantry event is a great way to inform people about the true hunger insecurity in our community and how individuals can help improve the situation by promoting education and donating food to the HKJFP,” said Marissa Rosen, who is co-chairing this year’s event with Jill Settler.
This year, JF&CS is partnering this year with the Jewish Community Center’s Helene Mirowitz Family Center for the event.
The event is open to the public. Admission is free, although a few additional activities will be offered at a price. Guests are asked to bring a bag of groceries to donate to the food pantry. Advanced registration is requested. For more information or to RSVP, contact Kelly Mueller at 314-993-1000 or [email protected].
