Kolot, the St. Louis Jewish women’s choir, will begin its 10th year with a rehearsal and informational meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Congregation Temple Israel, 1 Rabbi Alvan D. Rubin Dr. (Ladue Road at Spoede Road) in Creve Coeur.
This intergenerational, multi-denominational choir is open to women of all ages and Jewish backgrounds. No auditions are required and vocal ranges are welcome, however the choir is in particular need of sopranos this year. Kolot meets weekly on Tuesdays, from 7:30-9 p.m. The choir is directed by music educator Betti Blumoff and performs a diverse repertoire of music in English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino for audiences at Jewish community events and at area retirement centers.
