Jewish Unity Live welcomes Yehuda Green

The St. Louis Kollel’s annual Jewish Unity Live event will feature Yehuda Green in concert on Sunday, Feb. 14 at the Edison Theatre, on the campus of Washington University, 6445 Forsyth Boulevard.

Green is an internationally recognized performer in the world of Jewish music. He received his first exposure to the music of his “Rebbe” and musical mentor, Reb Shlomo Carlebach, at the age of five. Two decades later, Yehudah shared the stage with Reb Shlomo. Subsequent performances together evolved into a relationship that became the musical equivalent of “the passing of the torch.” Yehudah’s audiences span the entire spectrum of the Jewish world, evoking an emotional response that few of today’s performers can match.

In addition to the concert, the evening will include a siyum, celebrating a culmination of learning as a memorial tribute to Michael Harris, of blessed memory. As a committed student and member of its Board of Directors, Harris was an active and dedicated supporter of the Kollel.

A Young Leadership Award will be presented to Josh and Temima Gould at the event. The Goulds were founding members of the Kollel’s Young Leadership Board, and Josh Gould helped start the Kollel’s popular Torah N’ Turf program.

The Jewish Unity Live program is sponsored under the auspices of Jewish Unity International (JUI), an organization established to address the critical issues of apathy and assimilation facing Jewry today.

Doors open at 6:30 and the program begins at 7 p.m. General admission is $25 per ticket. For sponsorship opportunities or additional information about the St. Louis Jewish Unity Live event, call St. Louis Kollel at 314-726-6047 or visit www.stlkollel.com/jul.
