Jewish teen group holds native plant sale at B’nai El Congregation
Published April 21, 2011
Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Jewish Environmental Initiative (JEI) and its teen group are sponsoring a native plant sale and rain barrel raffle. The sale will take place at B’nai El Congregation and the Saul Mirowitz Day School-Reform Jewish Academy, 11411 S. Outer 40 Drive, from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1. The event is a benefit for the JEI Teen Group, a committee of the Jewish Community Relations Council that engages in environmental activities and projects.
The sale will include a variety of flowers, which people can both pre-order or purchase directly at the sale. There will be an opportunity to learn about rain barrels and to enter a raffle to win a rain barrel. Rain barrels collect rainwater and reduce water bills, as collected rainwater can be used to water a garden and lawn. The JEI Teen Group invites the community to support the native plant and rain barrel sale. A flyer/pre-order form is available online at www.jcrcstl.org.
