Jewish St. Louis Senior Olympians competing in the ice hockey accuracy shootout took the top three spots in the new event in the 2025 games.
Marc Oberman grabbed the gold medal and Monte Sandler captured silver.
Scott Chelist, who took the bronze medal, said he has played hockey for 20 years. “I like the camaraderie,” said Chelist, 54. “It’s one of the coolest ways to build a friendship—it’s really special.”
Oberman plays in a weekly men’s league. “I play on Sunday nights,” said Oberman, 51. “I’ve been playing for about 10 years. I’ve coached my son, too. I love hockey.”
