Rabbi Max Weiman, director of the Kabbalah Institute of St. Louis, will teach a class on “Happiness & Pleasure: What the Almighty Wants for Us” from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. on four Mondays, beginning Oct. 16. From 7:30-8:45 a.m. on three Mondays beginning Nov. 13, Weiman will teach how the infiniteness of the Almighty is incorporated into the mystical aspects of Hebrew. Club presents programon Jewish lyricists
Dr. Burton Boxerman will present his program “They Wrote the Words: Jewish Lyricists of Broadway and Hollywood” at Shaare Zedek Men’s Club meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 18. From Lorenz Hart to Oscar Hammerstein to Sammy Kahn, talented Jews wrote the lyrics to songs that everyone knows and sings. Jacob’s Pillow scheduled
The next Jacob’s Pillow, the coffee house of sacred music and sacred story, will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. The evening is a celebration of the life, stories, and music of Rebbe Nachman, the Hasidic story myth master. Writer and educator, Marcia Moskowitz will discuss the book Heir to the Glimmering World by Cynthia Ozick at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Saul Brodsky Jewish Community Library.
