Saint Louis Symphony Concertmaster David Halen and Cantor Sharon Nathanson of Congregation B’nai Amoona will lead symphony musicians in a celebration of Jewish music across multiple genres during “From Cinema to Swing: A Jewish Music Experience” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Powell Hall, 718 North Grand Boulevard.
Nathanson will perform songs from the whole world of Jewish music in Hebrew, English, Ladino and English. The concert is free and open to the public. No tickets or RSVPs are required.
Following this eclectic concert, the symphony will host a complimentary kosher wine and cheese tasting.
This event is part of the “On Stage at Powell” series. Audience members are encouraged to sit on stage with the symphony musicians and featured soloist. This gives the audience a musician’s eye view of the beautiful hall and provides an intimate setting for incredible music making.
