Jewish Federation of St. Louis will welcome blogger Amy Kritzer for a special event through the Jewish Food Experience.
Last fall, St. Louis was selected to pilot the Jewish Food Experience, an initiative by Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. Kritzer from the “What Jew Wanna Eat” website and blog, will lead an intimate cooking experience followed by a community cooking demo.
Events with Kritzer are planned for Tuesday, April 19 at the Jewish Community Center Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive. “Setting the Plate,” a VIP cooking experience with Kritzer, will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by “The Main Course,” an entertaining cooking demo and tasting.
Growing up, Kritzer said she loved cooking with her bubbe, braiding challah bread, rolling out rugelach. She loved cooking these recipes so much, she quit her corporate job and went to culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin. Now, she spends her days teaching cooking classes, developing recipes, being a personal chef and food writer.
A $36 ticket includes the Setting the Plate VIP event (space is limited) and admission to The Main Course. A $15 ticket includes The Main Course with light appetizers and one drink ticket. Dietary laws observed. Must be 21 years old to attend.
Register at JFedSTL.org/What-Jew-Wanna-Eat by April 15. Jewish Federation of St. Louis has subsidized the event, so 100 percent of proceeds will go towards funding agencies and programs in the community. The event is planned in partnership with YPD and Next Dor STL. For more information, contact Nate Rosenblum at [email protected] or 314-442-3726.
