Jewish Film Festival short film competition
Published December 7, 2011
The St. Louis Jewish Film Festival is beginning the second year for its Short Film Competition and is soliciting new and established filmmakers who want to participate. The deadline for letters of intent is Feb. 24, with an entry fee of $10. The contest will feature student (from sixth grade through college age) and professional categories.
Filmmakers should submit a short film, no more than five minutes in length, on the theme of “Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.” The theme could embody the ideas of acts of kindness; caring for the stranger or the less fortunate or treatment of people with differences, including minorities or people with disabilities. Filmmakers do not have to be Jewish to submit an entry.
Finished films need to be submitted by April 27 in order to be judged in time for the St. Louis Jewish Film Festival in June, where the winning films will be showcased.
Information about rules and instructions as well as the letter of intent form can be found on the St. Louis Jewish Film Festival website, www.stljewishfilmfestival.org.
