Jewish Federation starts summer intern program

Jewish Federation of St. Louis has launched a summer internship program for college students that will combine employment and a community connection experience. Applications are being accepted online for “Learn and Earn,” an eight-week, paid, summer opportunity for students who either live or study in St. Louis.

As many as six interns will be matched with local companies, including Zoltek Companies Inc., Warehouse of Fixtures and Manor Real Estate, for positions in areas such as finance, marketing and sales. Interns will work Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, they will come together to learn about the St. Louis Jewish community and connect with each other.

“The Learn and Earn program is a great way to connect companies with qualified interns and, at the same time, encourage students to engage in the local Jewish community,” said Joel Frankel, Federation’s engagement professional and coordinator of the program. “We think it’s a step toward attracting young adults who are invested in participating in Jewish life in St. Louis.”

To be considered for the Learn and Earn program, students must be in their junior year of college, live in St. Louis and attend school elsewhere or live elsewhere and attend school in St. Louis, have transportation, and be Jewish or interested in the St. Louis Jewish community.

Applications will be accepted at JFedSTL.org/LEInternship through April 25. Federation is seeking more companies to participate in the program. For more information, email [email protected].
