Jewish Community Inclusion Initiative to host community forum
Published June 10, 2015
Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Inclusion Initiative is hosting a community forum for individuals with disabilities and their families at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at the Jewish Community Center Marilyn Fox Building, 16801 Baxter Road in Chesterfield.
The event will give attendees an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Inclusion Initiative and get updates on ongoing projects, as well as discuss opportunities to explore new programs. The forum is a follow-up to last year’s event, hosted by the Inclusion Initiative. The previous forum gave people an opportunity to brainstorm and identify topics, while this forum will focus on the implementations of those ideas discussed, with presentations of the ongoing programs and initiatives and the work of the Inclusion Initiative. It will also give attendees an opportunity to explore new programs and help set the goals for the coming year.
Participation is free, but an RSVP is required. Contact Rinat Kisin, Inclusion Coordinator, at [email protected] or 314-442-3801 by June 24. A respite room with staff for children with special needs will be available; those families who need this care should let Kisin know so arrangements can be made.
Light refreshments will be served; dietary laws observed. A sign language interpreter will be present.
The mission of the Inclusion Initiative is to promote full participation in Jewish life for individuals with disabilities and their families by enhancing inclusion, providing resources and collaborating with existing services in the Jewish community.
