Jewish Community Center used book sale returns Jan. 23-28

For more than 37 years the JCC has had an annual used book sale. The sale has been on hiatus the last two years while the Jewish Community Center’s Arts & Education Building has been built. Throughout the year members of the community donate their used books to the sale, now in partnership with the Epstein Hebrew Academy where books are being dropped off, marked and sorted.

This year’s sale will take place in the new JCC Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive, and begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23. Line tickets will be sold starting at 9 a.m. The opening day is the only day that an admission of $10 will be charged. Children 16 and under are free on opening day. All other days are free.

The sale hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, which is “bag day” — where buyers can fill a bag for $5.

Dealers, collectors, avid readers and the home school community find the books they are searching for. A dedicated committee works year round to sort and categorize the books making it easy for the shoppers to find.

A second sale will take place Aug. 28 through Sept. 4.
