Jewish Camp Fair set for Jan. 30 at Temple Emanuel

The Jewish Camp Fair 2011 will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at Temple Emanuel, 12166 Conway Road. The fair is free and open to the public. There will be representatives from the following types of programs:

• Day camps in St. Louis (including Jewish pre-school camps)

• Jewish overnight camps from throughout the country spanning the entire religious and ideological spectrum

• Teen programs including national travel programs, trips to Israel, Jewish studies programs and other unique and specialized offerings

• Programs and information for children with special needs

• Staff recruitment

The Fair is organized by Tips on Trips and Camps (www.TipsonTripsandCamps.com), a camp referral service with 40 years in the camping industry. Jenny Wolkowitz, Midwest Consultant for Tips on Trips, (and a member of the Jewish Light Board of Trustees) said, “This annual event gives St. Louis families an opportunity to meet directors from a variety of Jewish summer camp experiences. What better way to make your summer decision.”

Wolkowitz said while summer may seem far away, planning ahead may save families money since many camps offer early bird sign-up discounts.

The first 50 families through the door at the camp fair will receive a bright red Tips on Trips and Camps re-useable grocery bag.
