JCRC sponsors annual outerwear drive Nov. 1 – Dec. 9

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and its Bohm Social Justice Initiative will sponsoring an outerwear drive from Nov. 1 to Dec. 9, benefiting refugees recently relocated to the St. Louis area. Items collected will be donated to the International Institute of Saint Louis. Items can be dropped off at any of the following locations:
- Jewish Community Center Staenberg Family Complex, 2 Millstone Campus Drive
- The J’s Marilyn Fox Building, 16801 Baxter Road
- Bais Abraham Congregation, 6910 Delmar Blvd.
- Congregation B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Road
- Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road
- Kol Rinah, 829 N. Hanley Road
- Temple Emanuel, 12166 Conway Road
- Temple Israel, #1 Alvan Rubin Drive
- Traditional Congregation, 12437 Ladue Road
- United Hebrew Congregation, 13788 Conway Road
- Young Israel of St. Louis, 8101 Delmar Blvd.
The outerwear drive is being held in cooperation with the Jewish Social Action Network (JSAN), a collaboration of St. Louis Jewish congregations coordinated by the Jewish Community Relations Council. JSAN encourages congregations to engage in social action programming and coordinates community-wide social action projects. Chairing the outerwear drive this year are Laura Goldmeier of B’nai Amoona and Lenny Baer of Temple Emanuel.
Jewish Social Action Month (JSAM) is a global initiative in the Jewish community to promote social action to improve ourselves (tikkun pnimi) and to improve the world (tikkun olam).
