JCC used book sale returns; donations sought

After going on hiatus during the construction of the JCC Arts & Education at the Staenberg Family Complex, the Jewish Community Center’s used book sale is back with a new partner, the Epstein Hebrew Academy. Used book donations are welcome.

Book collection will take place at the Epstein Hebrew Academy, 1138 Warson Road, Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Books should be taken to the lobby just outside the school office where there will be a book drop receptacle. No magazines or encyclopedias will be accepted. All other books in good condition are welcomed.

The used book sale will continue to take place at the JCC in the new Arts & Education Building. There will be two sales in 2011, one the end of January and one the end of August. It will take several months for the inventory to build up in preparation.

Volunteer markers are needed to work to sort and price books at the Epstein Hebrew Academy. The times for working are Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Carole Levin is the new chair of the sale and welcomes new volunteers. Volunteers will be trained and there is no heavy lifting. To volunteer or for more information call Zelda Sparks at 314-442-3169.
