JCC plans tryouts for 2015 Maccabi Games

The Jewish Community Center will hold tryouts for the 2015 JCC Maccabi Games from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the JCC’s Marilyn Fox Building in Chesterfield.
This year’s Maccabi Games will take place in Milwaukee, Wisc., from Sunday, Aug. 2 through Friday, August 7, 2015.
Jewish teens from all over the United States, Canada, Israel, Mexico and Great Britain will share in the fun of competing and the pride of being part of a world-famous Olympic-style event infused with Jewish content and values.
The JCC will take 100 athletes who are ages 13 to 16 as of July 31, 2015 to compete in baseball, girls and boys basketball and soccer, girls volleyball, coed flag football, inline hockey, dance, golf, swimming, table tennis, track and field, and tennis.
Golf, table tennis, tennis and track & field athletes and parents must pre-register and attend an informational meeting. Meetings are at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The schedule of tryouts is:
• 4 to 5 p.m.: Soccer, girls volleyball and swimming
• 5 to 6 p.m.: Basketball and dance
• 6 to 7 p.m.: Baseball and flag football.
