JCC plans special family event at Marilyn Fox Building
Published February 9, 2011
Celebrate the newly named Helene Mirowitz Family Center at the JCC Marilyn Fox Building (formerly the Helene Mirowitz Children’s Activity Center) from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21. Families with children under 5 (siblings welcome) can keep busy on this President’s Day with a sampling of Family Center programming including cooking, art and music from Dave Simon’s Kidzrock. There will be a raffle for discounts off future classes. The cost is $5 per family for J members and $8 per family for the general public. Event chair is Stacy McNew. This program is coordinated by the Helene Mirowitz Center of Jewish Community Life.
The new moniker is reflective of the common goals and similar programming underway in the Family Center at the Staenberg Family Complex. Both Family Centers are geared towards families with children ages 5 and under. Classes at the Fox building include Terrific Tuesdays, mommy/infant programs, parenting classes such as Love and Logic, Noah’s Art, Lunch Bunch and Camp Potpourri in the summer. The Helene Mirowitz Family Center at Fox is also utilized for Open Play every Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., birthday parties and more.
