The Jewish Community Center has hired Brad Chotiner as director of the J Day Camps.
Chotiner (“Chots” to friends and colleagues) has been affiliated with the JCC in St. Louis for nearly 20 years as a camper, counselor and a supervisor at Camp Sabra.
“Everything I learned about life, I learned from camp,” Chotiner said. “It’s simply the reason I am who I am today and I feel very privileged to direct this incredible program that’s going to influence thousands of kids.”
Craig Neuman, director of programming at the JCC, said Chotiner’s experience would “allow him to fit in well leading a group of other seasoned professionals” on the day camps’ mostly year-round, full-time staff.
Chotiner also has served as teen/youth director and assistant day camp director at the Austin, Texas, JCC; assistant director at the University of Pittsburgh Hillel as well as Jewish overnight camps (program director at Sabra and assistant director at Camp Livingston).
He has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Texas and a Missouri teaching certificate, and volunteer experience as American Camping Association accreditation visitor.
Registration is open for J Day Camps. View the catalog at jccstl.org.
