JCC hires Anna Zelinske as Adult Day Center director

The Jewish Community Center has hired Anna Zelinske as director of its Adult Day Center.

Zelinske holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling and comes to the JCC from Paraquad, where she spent nearly eight years helping people with disabilities remain independent in their homes. Most recently, she was the organization’s director of independent living.

She has worked with people with disabilities since 1999 and describes herself as someone with “a passion for people and a desire to make her career out of helping people of all ages and abilities live independently, with the support they need.”

The Adult Day Center at the J serves adults who may be socially isolated but who can continue to live in the community, or who need assistance to perform activities of daily living and need special care, but are able to participate in a group setting.

“Our Adult Day Center program is an incredible community resource for adults who need extra care and for their caregivers,” says Lynn Wittels, JCC president and CEO. “We feel Anna brings the right combination of understanding and skill to serve our participants and their families, and we are very excited that she has joined our J family.”

Adult Day Center activities include daily exercise, musical entertainment, arts and crafts, modified sports, games, pet therapy and intergenerational programs with local schools and the JCC’s Early Childhood Center.
