JCC announces personnel changes

Two major personnel changes were announced this week at the Jewish Community Center: Steve Rosenzweig was named Chief Operating Officer of the JCC, adding that job to his current role of CFO as well, and Margaret Schatz, director of marketing, resigned.
“In his added responsibilities, Rosenzweig will continue to manage both the Accounting and IT departments, but will add matters related to facilities as well, including both Buildings & Grounds and our Facility Rental departments,” said J President and CEO Lynn Wittels.
In discussing the Schatz resignation, Wittels issued this statement: “Margaret helped upgrade the quality of our marketing and communications materials in the three-plus years she was here. She helped propel us into the world of social media and has taken many of our publications into the 21st century with an online presence. We thank her for her hard work and dedication.” Schatz has not commented on her reason for resigning.
Wittels said the J is looking for her replacement. Until then, “the marketing services team of Ben Sandmel, Greg Lazerwitz and the people from IKON will rally to ensure nothing falls through the cracks,” she added.
Rosenzweig joined the J in May of 2006. Wittels noted that he completed a total overhaul of the agency’s reporting systems and has been instrumental in developing a 30-year financial plan that “has served as the basis for our agency’s return to financial sustainability,” she said.
“Steve has been an integral part of the budgeting process, working in a far more comprehensive fashion with all program departments to ensure reasonable yet stretch goals,” Wittels added.
