Interfaith celebration centers on Muslim poet

“Rumi’s Wedding Night” will pair an interfaith panel discussion with a Native American flute concert beginning at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17 at the Ethical Society, 9001 Clayton Road. The free event will feature a panel discussion with Washington University Professor of Persian literature Fatima Kashavarz, Imam Muhammed Hasic of St. Louis’ Islamic Community Center, UM-St. Louis English Professor Howard Schwartz, and St. Louis University Professor of Theological Studies John Renard.

At 7:30 p.m., John MacEnulty will perform a concert on the Native American flute.

At 8:30 p.m., there will be an open dialogue with the audience.

Admission is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
