Jeremy Cowan, owner of Shmaltz Brewing Company and author of “Craft Beer Bar Mitzvah,” will speak to Jewish Federation’s Young Professionals Division’s Brew House series at the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. A book discussion and beer tasting will explore the history and concept of a craft beer with a Jewish twist.
Cowan may be best known as the founder of He’Brew Beer, a playful line of brews whose tagline is: “The chosen beer.” His recent book is a first-hand account of what he calls “extreme Jewish brewing.”
Tickets to the Brew House Series event are $13, and include kosher beer, soda and snacks. Registration deadline is Monday, Nov. 14. Event chairs are Dr. Becky Rosenberg, Jeff Glogower and Carly Farbman. VP of Mass Education is Elizabeth Wallace. Planning committee includes David Edlund, Simone Picker, and Greta Deerson. The event is co-sponsored by Jewish Federation’s Young Professionals Division (YPD) and the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival and will be held at the Jewish Community Center, 2 Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur.
