Grants to fund year of Israel at 65 celebrations

The Lubin-Green Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, has awarded a variety of micro grants in celebration of Israel’s 65th birthday. These grants, administered by the Central Agency for Jewish Education, are designed to spread the celebration across a broad spectrum of the community throughout the year. Highlights include:
St. Louis Israel Folk Dancing – Rokdim St. Louis : Weeklong artist-in-residence series of interactive dance workshops and classes for all age groups (April 10 to 16).
Nusach Hari B’nai Zion – An evening with Sam “Bodi” Bodenheimer (April 13).
Kol Rinah and Central Reform Congregation: Multi-generational program looking at Israel through an environmental lens (April 14).
St. Louis Israeli Community: Community celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut on Israel Independence Day (April 15).
Crown Center for Senior Living: Panel discussion on groups of immigrants in Israel (April 16).
Youth Professionals Council: Teen celebration focusing on Israel advocacy and education and cultural and recreational engagement (April 16).
JCC Family Center: Israel Birthday Party for young children and their families to educate and connect them with Israel in a fun, engaging way (April 21).
Temple Israel and Shaare Emeth: Religious school students and their families will build new relationships with St. Louis’ sister city in Israel, Yokneam-Megiddo (April 28).
New Jewish Theatre: Artist-in-Residence with the playwright of Hannah Senesh (Dec. 5-22).
Jewish Film Festival: A look at Israel though the lens of contemporary Israeli Society. (date TBD).
St. Louis Jewish Book Festival: A Salute to Israel (date TBD).
Torah Mitzion Kollel of St. Louis: Yachad, an informal educational program for day school students focusing on Israel’s history, culture & society in celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut.
