Four-week introduction to Jewish Mindful Parenting

Rabbi Andrea Goldstein of Congregation Shaare Emeth will lead “Blessings All Around,” a four-week introduction to Jewish Mindful Parenting taking place from 9 to 10 a.m. on consecutive Fridays, starting Feb. 19.

Mindfulness is the practice of becoming more aware and awake to the world around us. Mindful parenting, in turn, allows parents to be more open and present, without judgment or fear, to their lives and the lives of their children.

In this class, Goldstein, a Jewish mindfulness educator trained by the Institute of Spirituality, will teach parents the basic principles of mindful parenting and the practices to put these tenets into action at home. Classes are Feb. 19 through March 11 at Shaare Emeth. Enrollment required by Wednesday, Feb. 17.

The four-week tuition cost is $40 for nonmembers and $30 for Shaare Emeth members and families of Shirlee Green Preschool. Babysitting will be provided at no cost for preschool-aged children—reservations are required. Learn more at sestl.org/mindfulparenting, and enroll in the class and reserve preschooler babysitting by calling Kendra Brown at 314-569-0048.
