First meeting set for Sharsheret Supports Friendship Circle
Published January 8, 2015
The first meeting of the Sharsheret Supports Friendship Circle is being held on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The group offers support in the St. Louis Jewish community to women who have been diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer and are anywhere along their treatment path – before, during, or post treatment. The friendship circle hopes to encourage connections with networks of peers, health professionals and related resources. There will be an educational component followed by an opportunity to share and connect with other program participants at each session. Led by Kathy Bearman, a licensed social worker, the group will meet the third Wednesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center. The program is sponsored by Sharsheret Supports, a project of Nishmah, and is open to the Jewish community. Light refreshments will be served. Although not required, pre-registration is appreciated.
