The Jewish Community Center installed Felicia Malter as its new board chair during the J’s annual meeting in May.
“[Malter] has been at the front of many of the most important decisions we’ve made at the J in the past few years. I’m thrilled to be working with her in her new capacity,” said the J’s President and CEO Lynn Wittels in a statement. “She has a remarkable ability to identify key issues quickly, and is collaborative in her approach to problem-solving. She’s thoughtful and builds consensus in all that she does.”
Malter succeeds outgoing board chair Steve Goldenberg.
Malter, who is Partner-in-Charge of RubinBrown’s Assurance Services Group, first became involved with the J as a member of its Finance Committee, and soon after, joined the board and served as vice president. Malter and her husband, Steve, have two daughters who have participated in J Day Camps, swim lessons and Nishmah’s It’s a Girl Thing program.
“I’m excited about my new role, as I believe the J is an extremely important hub for our Jewish community,” Malter said. “We have an amazing staff, board and volunteer group — I’m proud to be part of such an amazing, inclusive organization.”
At the annual meeting, the J also installed five new board members: Jeff Cohen, Isabel Goldstein, Art Handman, Greg Siwak and Julie B. Stern.
