Federation launches redesigned community website
Published July 31, 2013
Jewish Federation of St. Louis has redesigned the community website JewishinStLouis.org in the hopes of better serving the community. Resources like the community calendar, photo gallery, job listings, blogs and community directory are still key components of the site, but they are restyled in a more accessible, contemporary, interactive and user friendly layout.
“We’re very excited about the redesign,” says Rahna Barthelmess, Federation director of marketing. “JewishinStLouis.org continues to be a point of access for the community, a place to share events, photos, information and more, but it’s now easier for people to use and navigate.”
Some highlights of the redesigned website include:
• Jewish Light Newsfeed—a feed of both local and international news, pulling from the Jewish Light and JTA;
• Community Directory—the new directory maps the area of services and provides street-level views of buildings and descriptions of services when you click on them;
• Job Board—an updated tool makes it much easier for employers to post jobs and individuals to search for jobs;
• Community Calendar—the new calendar is easier to use and more interactive, making posting events much simpler;
• Community Bulletin Board—all are welcome to post relevant information and updates for the community to see on this new section, creating user-driven content that will better serve the unique needs of the community.
“As those in our community begin to use the new site, I think they’ll appreciate the updates and the simplicity,” says Barthelmess. “The redesign fits well with the Federation website we launched earlier this year, JFedSTL.org.” JFedSTL.org joined JewishinStLouis.org to help the community connect with up-to-date information on Federation. It features blogs, news, links to Federation programs and an electronic press kit. Joining JewishinStLouis.org, it gives Federation a comprehensive online presence.
A “Site Help and FAQs” section is available on JewishinStLouis.org to assist users in finding their way around the newly designed site. Visit the redesigned website at www.JewishinStLouis.org.
