Federation annual meeting will welcome new CEO

Hundreds of members of the St. Louis Jewish community will welcome new Jewish Federation President and CEO Andrew Rehfeld during Federation’s 2012 Annual Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at the Jewish Community Center Staenberg Family Complex’s Arts & Education Building. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served to celebrate the historic occasion.

In a keynote address, Rehfeld, 46, will share his new vision as he takes over the helm.  Rehfeld brings to his new post a lifelong background and passion for Jewish community affairs. Rehfeld succeeds 19-year veteran Barry Rosenberg.

Rosenberg will emcee the meeting, which is an evening to address the community about Federation’s work this past year and to examine the many roles Federation will take in the future under new leadership.

Robert Millstone, Federation chair, touts Rehfeld’s many talents.  “I am delighted that Andrew is taking over the helm at Jewish Federation…He is a talented and capable leader with genuine passion and dedication for serving our Jewish community. His interest in people, his ability to listen and communicate, and his vision will prove invaluable traits as we build a stronger and more vibrant community where we can Thrive. Together.”

Rehfeld acknowledges the complexities of his new role and relishes the opportunity to build a stronger Jewish community. “There are certainly challenges facing our Federation and the Jewish world, but with challenges come opportunities. I look forward to sharing my deep sense of Jewish community and building an environment for so many others to live inspired and relevant Jewish lives.”

Winners of the David N. and Roselin Grosberg Young Leadership Awards will be presented, and the Fred A. Goldstein Memorial Service Award for Professional Excellence will be announced. Rabbi Mark Fasman of Shaare Zedek Synagogue will give the invocation.

Cost is $18. RSVP by Aug. 22 online at: www.JewishinStLouis.org/jfed12 or contact Sharon Starr at 314-442-3814 or [email protected].
