Family Torah Festival at SSDS
Published February 9, 2011
Solomon Schechter Day School is celebrating the restoration of the school’s Torah from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27 with a free afternoon of family fun. The event will include a scavenger hunt, Torah-themed craft projects and an opportunity to “Walk the Map of Israel.”
The Family Torah Festival is open to the community. There will also be a concession stand available for snacks. In addition to the festival activities, Sofer (scribe) Zerach Greenfield will be available at the Festival to demonstrate the mitzvah of writing a Torah. Many dedication opportunities are available, offering families the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of holding the quill with the sofer, assisting him in writing a letter.
