Domestic Violence Awareness Month award nominees sought
Published August 21, 2013
Nominations are open for the 2013 Women’s Champion for Social Change Award, which recognizes employers in the St. Louis community who are making a difference in the lives of women in the workplace. For many women surviving domestic abuse, paid work is key to a safe future for themselves and their children. Employers can choose to implement policies that support this security.
This new award is sponsored by SLEVAWN—St. Louis Ending Violence Against Women Network—a coalition of groups supporting domestic violence survivors in building new lives. Nominations are due by Aug. 28, and should be mailed to Ellen Alper, NCJW-St. Louis Section, 295 N. Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, Mo. 63141, emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 314-993-5362. Call the National Council of Jewish Women at 314-993-5181 with questions or visit ncjwstl.org for more details.
The awardee will be honored at a free breakfast sponsored by Wells Fargo at its company headquarters at 7:30 a.m Thursday, Oct. 17 (RSVP 314-993-5181 or [email protected]).
