Director of Women’s Torah Institute featured during Shabbat events

Rabbanit Oshra Koren, director of MaTaN (Women’s Torah Institute) in Israel, will present several programs St. Louis on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8. 

Koren founded the MaTaN Bat Mitzvah program, leads the Bat Kol Ensemble, is a member of the Ra’anana City Council and is a sought after speaker and educator in Israel and abroad.

She will speak at the following events: 

• 8:45 p.m. Feb. 7 during an oneg at a private home (email for location), with a presentation on “You Never Know—Seeing Beyond the Surface”  — Aggadot from Massechet Taanit

• On Feb. 8, after Shabbat morning tefillah, a discussion of  “Hillel and Shammai—Between Heaven and Earth” at Young Israel

• 4:30 p.m. Feb. 8, Seuda Shlishit for Women only (at a private home) on “Rachel Imanu—The Mother at the Crossroads”

• 7:45 p.m. Feb. 8, dairy dinner and Melave Malka at Young Israel for women and girls in the community, and in particular, graduates of the Ruth Fredman Mother and Daughter Bat Mitzvah Program; $10 suggested donation, RSVPs requested. The program is an experiential shiur for women and girls including chavruta, discussion and art activity.
