The Gladys and Henry Crown Center for Senior Living is partnering with OASIS — an organization that serves adults over age 50 — to create programming to enrich the lives of Crown Center residents and others in the community.

The leaders of both organizations say the partnership will allow the two to host a wide array of programming at Crown Center making it more convenient than ever for residents to enjoy an active, independent lifestyle and bring in seniors from the community.

Crown Center is now hosting OASIS musical programs, including a swing ensemble, a concert band, a jazz group and a small wind combo.

OASIS and Crown Center started a walking group in September. A regular program from OASIS, the organized walking group at Crown Center may be modified into a special club format in which walkers commit to stroll with one another regularly.

OASIS will also offer a range of its arts and humanities courses at Crown Center, which could include lectures from a variety of interesting and engaging speakers on topics such as history or current events. In addition, OASIS will contribute health and wellness programs including exercise courses in Crown Center’s fitness room.

Nikki Goldstein, executive director at Crown Center, said that partnering with OASIS will help each organization to achieve its mission. “We are always seeking to partner with other outstanding organizations who share our mission to create a caring and supportive senior community…in working with OASIS we are able to increase the scope of programs offered and also expand our outreach to retirees in the area.”
