CRC hosts speaker from Israel for weekend of events

Central Reform Congregation will welcome Alex Cicelsky, co-founder of the Center for Creative Ecology (CfCE) in Israel and Kibbutz Lotan, one of two Reform Kibbutzim in Israel, for a weekend of events April 13 and 14.
Cicelsky lectures on sustainable design and environmental ethics worldwide and will share his personal experience regarding the Reform Movement in Israel, Reform Zionism and Eco Zionism. The CfCE’s outreach projects include environmental education in association with Friends of the Earth – Middle East for Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian youth, and numerous construction training projects with Bedouins, including building eco-habitats for Bedouins. Cicelsky is the Director of Research and Development at the Center for Creative Ecology on Lotan. Opportunites to hear from Cicelsky include:
• Saturday, April 13 — at 10 a.m. he will speak at services in the CRC Sanctuary; at 12:15 p.m. he leads a Lunch and Learn in the CRC Library.
• Sunday, April 14 — at 1:30 p.m. CRC’s Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebration will feature a presentation by Cicelsky followed by hands-on workshops.
