Covenant Place to host ‘Brain Health Maintenance’ discussion

Covenant Place will welcome Dr. David. B. Carr, Washington University Professor of Geriatric Medicine, for a discussion of “Brain Health Maintenance: What you need to know to take care of your most important resource” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 in the Milford & Lee Bohm Social Hall on the lower level of the Covenant II building, 8 Millstone Campus Dr.

Carr is Professor of Medicine and Neurology and the Clinical Director in the Division of Geriatrics and Nutritional Science and Neurorehabilitation at Washington University. His clinical interests include: Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, rehabilitation, memory loss in older adults and driving assessments for older adults.

His talk will look at concerns about dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and cognitive decline as people age. He will also discuss what can be done to help maintain or even improve one’s brain health, prolonging the potentially ravaging effects of aging.

The program is free of charge but RSVPs are requested. Call Covenant Place at 314-432-1610 to RSVP. Those interested may make a reservation for dinner, served at 5 p.m. at Covenant Place, prior to the program. The menu will include oven-baked fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli and fruit. A $3.50 donation for those 60 years and older is suggested; $8 for those under 60.
