Concentration camp liberator to speak at Washington U

Washington University alumnus Sanford “Buddy” Lebman, a corporal in the 445th Heavy Duty Ordnance attached to the 42nd Infantry Division that entered and helped liberate Dachau concentration camp in Germany in April 1945, will share his reflections and story of courage at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Umrath Lounge. His talk, “Witness My Story: An Evening with a Liberator,” is being hosted by Hillel at Washington University and the Hillel Leadership Council student organization in commemoration of the 78th anniversary of Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass), and is free and open to the public.
Umrath Lounge is adjacent to the Danforth University Center. Parking is available in the Danforth University Center Garage on Wallace Drive off of Forsyth Boulevard or in any yellow designated parking spot on campus. A light dessert reception will follow.
