Professor Avi Shveka, visiting lecturer in Rabbinic Studies at Washington University, will speak on the Book of Job at Bais Abraham Congregation’s Shabbat Lunch and Learn on Jan. 20. Chai Circle presents way to easier cooking
Women’s Chai Circle will present Shabbat: An Oasis in Time, teaching how to prepare and cook for Shabbat in less than an hour. The presentation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21, and will include a hands on cooking demonstration and sampling. The program will be held at Chabad of Chesterfield. The cost for this program is $10. Therapist will speak on teen communication
Adolescent therapist Moshe Borowski will speak on “How can I communicate with my teen or preteen and maintain Shalom in the home?” at 7 p.m. Jan. 23, at Epstein Hebrew Academy. High school committee will hold open meeting
The Jewish Community Day High School Committee will hold an open community meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Jewish Federation building. The meeting will concern what steps to take in forming the mission, vision and philosophy of the school.
Older adult board plans open meeting
OACAP, The Older Adult Community Action Program, will have an open board meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Jewish Community Center. Nancy Schmidt will speak at 11 a.m. about the services provided by Gateway Older Adult Legal Services of the St. Lous Chapter of the American Jewish Congress. Former combatants will speak for peace
Two former combatants will speak at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at Central Reform Congregation. Elik Elhanan, a former Israeli soldier, and Sulaiman Al Hamri, a former Palestian combatant, will speak about non-violent alternatives to resolve the Israeli – Palestinian conflict.
