New 'Super Sunday of Jewish Learning' scheduled

The St. Louis Rabbinical Association with the JCC and CAJE is sponsoring a “Super Sunday of Jewish Learning II” for everyone in the Jewish community on Sunday, Feb. 11. New this year, two national speakers will join twelve local rabbis as teachers for the day. $12 registration includes kosher breakfast, two 60-minute breakout sessions, two keynote speakers and kosher box lunch and learn. Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. and the program will run from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Free childcare is available upon request. The program will be held at the Jewish Community Center Carlyn H. Wohl Building in Creve Coeur. Advanced registration is required for the event and class size is limited. Local Chabad presents story time with a Jewish twist

Chabad of Chesterfield will present story time with a Jewish twist at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at the Chesterfield Barnes and Noble, 1600 Clarkson Rd. The event itself is free, but those wishing to attend are requested to RSVP in advance to Chanala@Chabadof Chesterfield.com.

‘A Glass Act’ on Delmar will welcome Hazzan Dulkin

Displays of glass blowing, delicious food, and traditional jazz melded with contemporary classical music will all come together as Shaare Zedek welcomes new Hazzan Joanna Selznick Dulkin with “A Glass Act.” The gala evening, will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at The Third Degree Glass Factory at 5200 Delmar. Music from the Todd Mosby Group will top off the evening. Jim Hanifan named chair of Senior Olympics event

Jim Hanifan, former head coach of the St. Louis football Cardinals and former assistant coach of the St. Louis Rams, has been named honorary chair for the 28th Annual St. Louis Senior Olympics. The event will be held May 25-28 and will feature more than 60 competitions for men and women, ages 50 and over. More than 1,500 athletes and 500 volunteers are expected to participate.
