Two to be presented with BJC Nursing awards

The Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing’s President’s Award will be presented Thursday evening, Sept. 14, to Norma Stern and Shirley Cohen during a dinner-fashion show at the Frontenac Hilton Hotel. The evening is part of a three-day event planned for Sept. 14-16 to celebrate the formation of a joint alumni association for graduates from both the Barnes and Jewish nursing programs and the building of a new facility. Synaplex premieres at United Hebrew

United Hebrew Congregation will hold its first Synaplex Shabbat event Friday-Saturday, Sept. 15-16. Synaplex is a national initiative that uses innovative programming, prayer services and learning opportunities. Holocaust Museum brunch will open garden

The Holocaust Museum Kopolow Memorial Garden in Creve Coeur will celebrate its opening with a brunch at 11 a.m. and a dedication cemremony at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. The brunch will be in the Jewish Community Center auditorium. The cost is $30 per person. CAJL Hebrew classes to be offered for adults

The Center for Adult Jewish Learning is offering courses in beginning Hebrew reading; reading prayerbook Hebrew for fluency; beginning and intermediate conversational Hebrew; beginning, intermediate and advanced biblical Hebrew. Celebration planned to prepare for holidays

Children ages 3-9 and their parents and grandparents are invited to get ready for the Fall Holidays at a PJ Storytime at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Saul Brodsky Jewish Community Library, 12 Millstone Campus Dr. Children are encouraged to wear pajamas.
