Wasserstein play opens NJT season Nov. 29

The New Jewish Theatre season begins with a tribute to Wendy Wasserstein with The Sisters Rosensweig. The play opens with a preview performance on Wednesday, Nov. 29, and continues on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 17. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m., and Sunday performances are at 2 and 7:30 p.m. The New Jewish Theatre performs in the Wolfson Studio Theatre of the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur. Season and individual tickets are available by calling the box office at 314-442-3283 or in the Cultural Arts office of the JCC. Tickets are $18 – $25 for the production. Women’s mental health will be topic of program

Jewish Family & Children’s Service WINGS Program presents “Women’s Mental Wellness,” a discussion of mental health issues specific to women. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Central Reform Congregation. There will be a buffet luncheon, a dramatic reading by Soundstage Theater, speakers, and a panel of community health care professionals to answer any questions. Cost is $10. Pre-Hanukkah celebration scheduled at JF &CS

Jewish Family & Children’s Service WINGS Program and Congregation B’nai Amoona will hold a Pre-Hanukkah Celebration from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at B’nai Amoona. Rabbi Neil Rose will speak, and there will be music and prizes. A kosher lunch will be served for $4 per person or $7 per family, no charge for those attending their first WINGS event. JCC will offer Mothers Circle for non-Jewish women

The Helene Mirowitz Department of Jewish Community Life at the St. Louis Jewish Community Center will offer The Mothers Circle, an eight-month class for non-Jewish women raising Jewish children. Tuition and childcare are free, no prior Jewish knowledge is required, and the course is designed specifically for non-Jewish women. The program will start in January.
